Realistic distribution for 60-90g carbs/hour:

  • Sports drink (6-8% carbs): 30 to 60g per 500-800 ml bottle = your main source
  • 1 to 2 Eagle bars per hour: 20 to 40g carbs = solid component
  • Possibly 1 gel in the final stages at high intensity

Maximum 1-2 bars per hour. More is physically unrealistic — your stomach cannot digest four bars per hour at pace. Bars are a supplement to your drink, not the main source.
